Back on the Saddle

Well... I knew it wouldn't last for long. The hunt for a job has begun. I really can't stand it (or afford it) to sit home during the day any longer. I have brushed up my resume and am finally serious about finding a job that I will love and enjoy.

It's funny, because now that I have been seriously focusing on it in my head, a lot of opportunities have presented themselves to me:

1) My neighbor down the hall offered me a job on Friday afternoon. It seems like a great little position, working as a receptionist for a prominent dentist in White Plains. (Granted, she did offer it to me after four glasses of wine at the local watering hole, but who's counting?)

2) Yesterday, as I was at Cindy's Baby shower, I sat with a friend who offered me a job at Canon- as a mail girl.

3) I went to visit my good friend Lori at the hospital. She just had a beautiful baby boy named David Michael. As I was sitting and chatting with her Mother-in-Law, she mentioned that there is a position at the College of New Rochelle for a Faculty Secretary in the School of Nursing. It comes with incredible benefits, including liberal vacation and complete tuition reimbursement should I decide to take classes there. (Mind you, the College of New Rochelle is my number one choice to go back to school.) My friend Christine nudged me, and let me know that she had sent me that job posting over two weeks ago because it is perfect for me.

So now... the rat race begins. I haven't been able to sleep. I woke up this morning at 7 am to get my letter of application and resume polished up. I sent emails to all of my favorite Registered Nurses from my Matrix and Standard days to ask for letters of recommendation. Now, I just need to wait and hope that they contact me within the day so I can apply for this job.

For the first time in a long time... I really want this.
