I’m getting married next weekend.
Just saying that sentence helps me to realize the severity of the situation. Surprisingly, I am pretty calm. Yes, I will admit I have had a few freak out sessions, mainly over people not responding to the invitation or 43 people being invited to the rehearsal dinner. (Yes, you read that number correctly.) I also stomped my feet and started whining a few times, in exasperation. I am not going to call myself a Bridezilla, but I have broken up with Brian about five times since Saturday. And he just keeps saying, “I can’t wait to marry you.” And kisses my belly and ruffles my hair.
It’s starting to set in a bit that this is the man that I am going to spend the rest of my life with. I don’t know what he was thinking when he chose me, but he did. I am finally starting to come to the realization that no matter what I do, or how terrible I am, he’s not going to run away. I’m not going to cause him to get up and leave, like it has happened so many times before. He loves me for who I am. He fights for me, he sticks up for me. It’s corny, but he holds doors and places his hand on the small of my back when we walk into places together.
It’s the kind of person I have wanted by my side for a really long time. And he’s finally here to stay.
I’m getting married in eleven days! This is insane!
