Saturday night we hosted our first annual Halloween bash at Uncle Henry's. Uncle H's is our local watering hole. We've become good friends with the owners. Not to mention we have become very popular with the regulars and have made quite a few- ahem- acquaintances. You know the kind that are always in the bar when we are..."God, Brian they are always in the bar!"
"Yes, honey... every time we are."
"Er... right."
The night turned out to be a huge success. We had a deal for $30 all you can drink and eat as long as you had a costume. I have got to say... people went all out for this. Brian and I were dressed as Wilma and Fred. The rest of the 35 guests ranged from Elvira the Drag Queen to Donna Reed... It was absolutely fantastic. Pictures will follow!
We hosted the party with another couple, Chrissy and Mike who live down the hall. They have become our good friends. Since they love Halloween as much as we do, we figured... why not join forces? It really worked out well. We barely planned or spent any money and ended up with a really kick ass party. Everyone chipped in. Sometimes its good to just be the person to get it all together.
Balloons, fake monsters that sang, candles and really good food. The best was every time someone would walk into the party, we'd all stop... cheer... point them out... and then get them a beer. It was pretty awesome.
At some point during the night, I looked around and saw all these smiling, masked and painted faces. People were laughing, talking and dancing. It was exactly what we hoped for. It was downpouring rain and everyone made an effort to get out and party.
I love when all of our friends and family get together. There are so many different personalities and characters. It always makes for crazy stories and an unforgettable time... no matter what.
Next up... Ugly Christmas Sweater Party! Stay tuned!
