"The poor guy was stuck in an elevator for four hours."

Been having a rough time lately. Mostly due to my work life. It's strange how a new job can suddenly turn into routine. The workload piles up and it becomes a time capsule. I sit at my desk at 8:30 am and I glance at the clock and it is 5:00 pm. At times I feel myself submerging into my job with no return. My only consolation is the sound of the incredibly good music pouring from my computer speakers. That and the US Weekly and In Touch that comes into the mail daily. I poach them and speed read them before putting into the appropriate person's mailboxes.

Have I had a bit to drink tonight? Yes.

Tonight I came home from work. Everything was according to my daily schedule. I hung up my coat and checkered scarf. Hung my keys on the rack and plopped with a huff onto my squishy couch. Brian wouldn't be home from work for at least another forty minutes, which gave me ample time to catch up on my week and a half of GH. I watched two episodes of all of my favorite people. (Maxi breaking Spanelli's heart really threw me for a loop.) Cooked an amazing shrimp stir-fry dinner. Sat on the couch and got a call from our favorite neighbors asking us to join them for a drink. I had big plans tonight. Big plans to finally write up and address our wedding thank-you cards.

But here I am... here I am after three glasses of wine. My thoughts are consumed with people that I miss. I want to find out a way to get rid of all of the controversy and strife in our lives and live happy like we try to.

One motto I have always tried to live by? Contact someone when you are thinking about them constantly. You know the person that floats into your thoughts when you are least expecting them? You block it out, push it away... try to get back to what you were doing and try to convince yourself that you shouldn't be thinking of them. I believe that when someone enters your mind time and time again, it is time to contact them and let them know. Once you reach out and put your feelings out there, it is up to that person to take the next step. The good part is that you have had your closure. Your dreams and your subconscious can take a rest for a day because you put it out there.

There are a couple of people I have been thinking about lately. Sometimes relationships run a muck and you think to yourself... "How did I let this get so out of control? How did I let this happen?" It's then that I realize life is short. Life is short and life is long. Someday all of this will be gone. All the moments and all of our time together. This is why I believe that we should love and be people full of truth and honesty. It's hard to be yourself when looking to someone else for acceptance.

Tonight I am making the decision to contact the people that I am thinking about the most... just in case I never get the chance to tell them.

Thank God my G-mail has Mail Goggles. Most likely I would be sending out emails tonight. Not ones that I would regret, but ones without a filter. Ones that wouldn't be taken seriously because of the hour. Honestly? That is what I want more than anything. For my words to be heard as genuine... because when you miss someone's company? You truly miss them and they should know about it.

I would want to know, after all...

Words from one of my favorite ladies:
We cannot change the past, but we can change our attitude toward it. Uproot guilt and plant forgiveness. Tear out arrogance and seed humility. Exchange love for hate --- thereby, making the present comfortable and the future promising."
